Psalm 51:1-17, and Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21 One service at 7:00 pm. Ash Wednesday is not a jolly holiday. It requires that we face our mortality with our eyes wide open. We commit to making changes in our lives because so often our lives are empty and meaningless. It is time to take stock and figure out what is important. We gather as a community to remember that from dust we came and to dust we will return. We gather to remember our mortality and to offer ourselves to God. All that’s asked of is a humble spirit and a repentant heart.
